Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful that there is INSULIN, the life-saving drug that my daughter Caroline needs to survive. Caroline was dianosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 18months old. She is now 14! It is hard to imagine that insulin was not used until 1922. While insulin is NOT a cure it is a drug that many need to live!

FFF MELT

OK! Enough already! Cold weather has hit southeast GA. Even though its has only been here a few days, I'm ready for it to leave. We have icicles courtesy of the sprinkler system hitting the "tree swing". Believe it or not these were Rebecca's first icicles, she was so excited. At first she was afraid that they were sharp and would hurt her, but after I broke one off she was ready to play with them. We even had to put some in the freezer so that they wouldn't "melt". She talks daily of seeing snow! Wouldn't mind just a very small amount!YES, I must be the worst mother, here Rebecca is outside in the freezing cold playing with icicles with NO jacket on. My heart was "melting" at her excitement over the icicles.

Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful for the great friends that my girls have. We often take friends for granted without telling them how much we care for them.

I am also thankful that it is almost the end of January and beach weather will be here before we know it.

R has decided that she is going to quit sucking her thumb! Thank the Lord! She began sucking it after I quit nursing her. About 2 years ago I purchased the thumb guard. Since I wasn't consistent with the guard and she hated it we put it into the closet. She has decided that she needs to wear it so that she won't suck! I am SO proud of her. Hopefully, this will do the trick. She reminds me to put it back on after bath time. We will see how it goes!
